Iceland - Day 11

Description

A second day in Seyðisfjörður.
Low clouds, wind, and drizzle.
Walk around the city.
Bought bread, peanuts, butter lettuce.
Worked on sending photos, Strava entries, and Travellerspoint blog.
Dinner of hot dogs for Kevin and smoked salmon for Robin along with ramen noodles and salad.

Details

This was our first rainy day so far. We made oatmeal in the busy hostel kitchen. We went for a walk around the town of seydisfjordur and saw the rainbow street and the little blue church. We found an outdoor exhibit of photographs telling the personal stories of residents who were affected by a major landslide in December 2020. No one was killed but many people lost their homes and workplaces. It was pretty wet outside so we went back to our hostel kitchen and ate lunch. In the afternoon we made use of the hostel’s sauna rather than driving anywhere. That was very relaxing. We ate dinner in the hostel kitchen. There were Spaniards, Italians, Germans, Swiss in the hostel; the kitchen was hopping!
